True multi-threaded processing

Soratek is not limited by queuing systems which may be associated with MS Windows server based recording systems; it is a true multi-tasking environment.

Pre-configured Plug and Play technology

Soratek is easy to install with intuitive set-up wizards – just add Soratek to your IP network.

Linux platform

Soratek’s recording system has been developed on a Linux platform which is renowned for its stability, reliability, security and efficiency.

Smart approach to video image processing

Soratek off-loads the overhead of image processing

to the camera.  Therefore there is a minimal impact on the performance of the network and the processing power of the Soratek appliance.

Intelligent data recycling

The storage requirement is reduced compared to alternative forms of IP surveillance solutions.  Oldest images are automatically recycled; however individual video files can be tagged to protect them from being recycled.

Tagged images can be protected until they are manually selected for deletion.  Key processes are carried out automatically, which reduces margin for error eg. No need to change tapes or disks.

Industry standard technology

A choice of 1u or 2u rack mounted appliance is available.  The appliance will fit into an industry

standard rack server cabinet and is clearly labelled

so that it can be identified easily within a rack.

Reliability

Video surveillance requires high availability, high performance hardware as software is writing to the disk continuously (24x7x365).  Soratek is an integrated appliance built on the latest generation of enterprise rack-optimised systems from Intel designed for uptime and serviceability.  Using disk technology specifically developed for the demands of a surveillance system Soratek has been tested extensively up to 320 frames per second (mjpeg) without dropping any frames.

1u – tested to 200 frames per second at VGA resolution (4CIF) without dropping a frame.

2u – tested to 320 frames per second at VGA resolution (4CIF) without dropping a frame

Expansion capabilities

Soratek’s image configuration can be adjusted in order to maximise video image storage capacity.    Storage requirements will depend on your video image specifications (size and quality of image

and number of frames per seconds).

When adding new cameras and amending image specifications, Soratek’s Storage Calculator will enable you to calculate your storage requirements.

Additional cameras can be added by purchasing further licenses. Soratek appliances can be added to meet the potential growth in your camera population.

Optional protection available

An optional UPS protects against the impact of power failure. An optional RAID protects your investment against the impact of a hard disk failure.

Fault Tolerant Architecture

In the event of an operation system failure, the Video Index will be automatically recovered thereby protecting all previously recorded video files.

When N+1 redundancy is configured, Soratek beings recording images to a back-up appliance. You can save Soratek configuration details to a safe point on your network which you can restore Soratek from should the system go down.  As standard the 2u appliance is delivered with a dual power supply.

Did you know?

Soratek uses TCP/IP, which means that integration with other applications as well as cameras is possible, all using the investment

you have already made in your existing IT network enabling the simplified and unified deployment of applications and devices across an IP Network.
